I've just learned of Reni's passing and wanted to offer my late but sincere condolences. When Reni and his brother were in collage in Toronto they lived with us. Reni was my first grown-up friend. He was kind to a fault, had the nicest and warmest smile. He always had time for my brother and I. His laugh was contagious! More than anything I remember how much he loved his family. I remember too his love of flying, and I remember the day he decided to be a police officer. We both had a good laugh when we bumped into each other while he was doing a police training call and I was a crazy teenager! I think the car he drove back then may have been a Celica? He loved driving it FAST! Lucky me to enjoy some of those crazy drives when he had to run out for an errand! I hadn't spoken to him in years, I knew he had suffered an aneurysm and had phoned him at his parents home many years ago, his mother was very patient with our conversation, thank you for that. RIP old friend.

Passing on my condolences to Reni's family, relatives and friends. I can see his "racing car driving skills" as we flew around 55 division. I can remember the old classic car he drove. His personality was huge...lit up a room with his jocularity! Will surely be missed. RIP!

To the family of Reni go my deepest sympathies for their loss.
He was blessed to have a wonderful and supportive family.
There are few people in this world that could make me smile and laugh like Reni.
His visits to my office were always a pleasure and I was blessed to have known him.
Just the mention of either of his brothers name, especially Klaus though, would cause an eruption of laughter and smiles.
When we communicated I could see in his eyes that he and I connected...those eyes of his could speak better than many could with words.
I will miss that and I will miss Reni.
Your friend,
Ernie

I was fortunate to meet Reni in 1978. That meeting became life altering . We became great friends and even better roommates. I had the privilege of living with Reni for 5 years. During this time he daily demonstrated his love and respect for his family. Due to Reni's shift work I was introduced "shift life" an obstacle I had not envisioned. Many a night Reni would awaken me from sleep proudly announcing .."we 're going on tour". Trips to Fuller's and Gymnastics, along with many other adventures that only his police brotherhood would understand and appreciate. Reni was most fortunate to have two families, his own and his police family, which also became my families. On trips to his hometown of Emo, he would fondly recall the tough life and tough love, embracing it and proudly saying it made him a stronger person. I cherished my years with Reni. Because of Reni, I have lasting and loving memories and loving friends Frank and Tracey.
Rest in peace my Dear Friend Reni. Toivo

Reni, you were a very dear friend to us. We spent many years at the cottage together with you and the boys and many nights at your home. I also had the pleasure of a few ride arounds with the guy they called Wheel Spin. We were also fortunate enough to experience the hospitality of your parents and brothers.
There are so many stories that anyone who new him could tell and they would always end in laughter. And what a laugh he had. We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and brothers in arms. God speed my friend. You will always be in our hearts.

My condolences to the Dunker family in the passing of Reni.
He was the first copper that I ever rode with in a Scout Car.
That was in 1980 and it was a lively ride from 55 to the old Stores Unit on Jane St with this green recruit holding on to anything in the car to keep from bouncing off the ceiling.
Rest in Peace My Friend.

I would like to send my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Dunker family over the passing of Reni. It's with a heavy heart and deep sadness I receive this information.
As one of his co-workers with the Toronto Police Service at 55 DIV, I concidered myself very fortunate and honored to work as a partner with Reni.
We were front line officers, both very young and new on the job. Responding to "Hot shot 9 desk calls". Reni's energy and enthusiasm was unprecedented. On occasion we would have a detail to pick up a new car at our Cranfield garage, lets just say it wouldn't take long for Reni to break it in.
Off duty, on the ski hills Reni wouldn't know the meaning of going from side to side, just straight down the hill to get in as many runs before sunset.
Remembering our times together brings an instant smile on my face. Rest in Peace my friend.
