Obituary of Maria Di Leo

Di LEO, Maria "Antonietta" Surrounded by her loving family and friends, Antonietta passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 68th year. Beloved wife for 49 years to Alex. Loving mom of Danny and Gerri (Nick) Minichiello. Proud Nonna of Sienna and Matteo. Predeceased by her parents Francesco and Giovanna Pennacchio. Survived by her mother-in-law Angela (the late Gaetano) Di Leo of Switzerland. Dear sister of Coreen (Mike) Di Leo, Giuseppe (Marietta) Pennacchio and the late Angelo (Maria) Pennacchio. Sister-in-law of Filomena (Salvatore) Salierno, Maria-Grazia (the late Raffaele) Troiano of Switzerland and Giuseppe (Maria) Di Leo of Italy. Antonietta was a cherished aunt to many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her many friends on MeadowBrook Cres. Antonietta was a faithful and dedicated parishioner of St. Alfred's Church. A special thank you to her caregivers Shelly, Inna, and Michelle who took such great care of Maria, also to St. Elizabeth and C.B.I. Antonietta's family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow Mass, at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Diabetes Association. "You are now free from pain, rest in peace".
