Obituary of William John "Bill" McAvoy

McAvoy, William John "Bill" Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on Sunday, April 6, 2003 at Linhaven Home for the Aged in his 86th year. William is the beloved husband of Elizabeth for over 61 years, and loving father of William and Cathy, and Mary Mildred and Harry. Grandfather of; Harry Jr., Susan, Bill, Ronnie and Christopher, and their spouses, Carla,Bob, Sylvie and Shelly, as well 14 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Linaven for their care and understanding, as well as the Pastor and congregation of Garden City Baptist Church for their prayers. Bill is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., where a service to celebrate and honour his life will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11a.m., with interment following in Victoia Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours for Bill are Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9p.m. Those who wish may make memorial remembrances is Bill's name to the Alzheimer's Society, or Friends of Linhaven.
