Obituary of Charles F. "Charlie" Ryan

Ryan, Charles F. "Charlie" Peacefully at home on Sunday, February 24, 2002, at 70 years of age, Charlie joined his beloved wife and best friend Dorothy (Feb 20, 2002). Dear father of Stephen Ryan of Port Colborne, Gerald Ryan of Oakville, and Alison Ryan of Toronto. Beloved step father of Robin Dupuis of St. Catharines, Kerrie (John) Davidson of Mississauga, and the late Jill Marks (1991). Loving grandpa of Alicia, Spencer, Kaitlyn, and Emma. Brother in law of Margaret (Barry) Reynolds of Prince Edward Island. Charlie's fun loving Irish spirit will be sadly missed by all his nieces, nephews, friends, and family. Charlie's deep love for rowing was seen by his active involvement in the Argonaut Rowing Club, the St. Catharines Rowing Club, the Rowing Alumni, the Canadian Henley Rowing Corporation, and he was chief referee of the Henley Regatta, Schoolboy, the Ontario Rowing Association, and many other local regattas. Charlie was a licensed international FISA official. Charlie is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-9pm. Cremation to follow. A memorial service to celebrate Charlie's life will be held at a later date. Memorial remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
