L‰O (G‰RARD) RENAUD- After a lengthy illness, L©o Renaud died peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, in his 88 year at Linhaven. Beloved husband for 60 years of Flore (nee Lalonde) and loving father of Robert (Jo-Anne) and Andr© (Christine). Dear grandfather of Michelle (Alex) of London, England. Adored great grandfather of Athena and Kincade Kyle of Kirkland Lake. Loving brother of Muguette Landriault (Ren©) of Alfred, and brother-in-law of Lydia Belle-Isle, Marie Goulet, Simone Lalonde and Rita and Rolande Renaud, all of Hawkesbury. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. All who knew L©o will remember him for his gentle disposition, his smile and his good sense of humour. L©o is predeceased by his parents, No© and Eva, his sister Fleurette Chartrand and his brothers Maurice, Rodrigue (Dick) and Paul. A Veteran of World War II, Leo served with RCAF 415 Squadron in England as a gunner. He completed 30 operational missions in Halifax and Lancaster aircrafts. From his hometown of Hawkesbury, he moved to St. Catharines and joined GM in 1947 and retired in 1980. Leo was an avid fisherman and liked nature and the outdoors. Family holidays were very important to him. He and Flore always enjoyed camping and traveling and, for many years, wintering in Florida. Leo excelled at swimming, 10 pin bowling, horseshoe pitching, shuffleboard and darts. His family is grateful for all the care Leo received during the last four years from devoted nursing and support staff at Ina Grafton, the Adam's Program, CCAC, Paramed, and Niagara Linhaven. A special thanks to Dr Carl Fung and Dr H. Wong for the medical care they provided. As per L©o's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at the Paroisse Immacul©e-Conception, 99 Garnet St., on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 11a.m.. A private interment will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL.
