Obituary of Guerrino "Gino" Lucas

Lucas, Rino "Gino" - We sadly announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Rino on Sunday May 5, 2013 in his 80th year at home. He leaves behind his beloved and adored wife Cecile of 47 years (nee Laverdiere) and his two very precious sons Michel and Jason (Stefania). Cherished brother of Claudio (Alma) of Italy. He will be missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nephews and nieces here in Canada and Italy. Predeceased by his parents Paolo and Rosa and brothers-in-law John Laverdiere and Florian Guillemette. Gino, as he was called by Cecile's family loved and lived his life to the fullest. He leaves behind his coffee friends at Tim Horton's and many other close friends. Gino's great pride and joy was spending time with his family, gardening, travelling and watching his Italian soccer (Internazionale). Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday between 4-8pm. Vigil Prayers will be held on Wednesday at 4:30pm in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street on Thursday at 9am. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Society of St. Vincent De Paul, 67 Queenston Street in Gino's honour.
