Obituary of William "Bud" Kay
KAY, William Herbert
It is with profound sadness that the family of William (Bud) Kay inform friends and relatives of the passing of Bud, at his home on July 8, 2012 in his 72nd year.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Marg Kay (nee Brock), his daughter Deborah Kay-Hoeller (Peter) and his son Wm. Dean Kay of Kitchener. He is survived by his sister Ann Smith (Ronald) of British Columbia and predeceased by his parents William George and Helen Kay (nee Simpson). He was an Honourary Dad to Cheryl Urquhart (Bruce), Grumps to Marci Zyta and Owen. He retired from the City of St. Catharines after 37 years, as a Foreman with Parks and Recreation 16 years ago. He was an avid fisherman, fun loving bowler, and played at golf. Bud enjoyed being a member of the Imperial War Veterans Association (George St.) for almost 50 years, volunteering to help with repair, functions and sometimes just having a pint with friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will welcome relatives and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Friday July 13, 2012 from 11:30-12:15p.m A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 12:30p.m. with a celebration of Bud's life to be held at Imperial War Veterans Association, 15 George Street. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by his family.
