Obituary of Ren�© Frans Edmond De Jonghe
De Jonghe, Ren�© - Passed away on February 25th in his 92nd year at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Loving husband of Hester for almost 47 years. Devoted father of Michelle and Monique. Cherished brother of Rose Anne (the late Archie) Gray of Alberta, Norbert (Jeanne) of Belgium and the rest of his family in Barbados, Belgium and Canada. Predeceased by his brother Edmond. Ren�© served in the Belgian army during WWII. He immigrated to Canada in 1951 and worked for Blenkhorn and Sawle for 36 years ending his career as the Plant Manager. He was a great cyclist, member of the St. Catharines Cycling Club, enjoyed traveling with his wife and gardening. Thanks to the ICU nurses and doctors at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their care.
A memorial service will be held at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street on Thursday at 11am. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation in Ren�©'s honour.
