I have had to good fortune to have known and worked with Ray Palleschi and his family over many years. Being employed with Husky Oil and living in Burlington, I witnessed the growth of Ray & Claires kids as they became more involved with the daily operations of the St Catherines Husky Truck Stop and Husky House Restaurant. With Ray you always got a person with boundless energy, a new idea to contemplate, a smile and a kind word, but most of all was Rays commitment to his family and that also extended to the many truck drivers and those in the trucking industry who frequented his business.
When Ray first started his Sunday Husky Brunch at his truck stop, Ray and Claire were looking for ways to provide the traveling public good food for great value and how they succeeded. Over the years we always found the restaurant full of Rays' family, friends, acquaintances, old and new customers. You came for the meal, but you got much more; enjoyment, entertainment, a comfortable surrounding and you left as a friend. The Palleschis had a way of doing that. It was always a family affair.
I will miss Ray and the many occasions of conversation and good humour we shared over the years. He was one of a kind. They say you are the sum of your life experiences and I will not forget the understanding and genuine kindness extended to my family. Thanks Ray, for sharing your life experiences with me.

I was saddened to hear of Ray's passing. I knew him as a customer when I sold janitorial supplies to him at Husky in the '90s, as a breakfast patron at Huskys when he always had a chocolate bar for my then little girls, and lately as a smiling face as we often did our banking at the same time at the Grantham Plaza. I remember Ray fondly and will miss seeing him. I offer my condolences to his family.

We are deeply sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Ray was a great man and a dear friend to all those around him. I met Ray about 40 years ago and he's been a great friend to me and my family ever since. Even being at the Husky, it never felt like just being at an establishment..it felt like being at a friend's home. He always made it feel that way. Although we all may not see Ray's smiling face there greeting his friends every day...he'll always be in our hearts.
If we could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
We’d express all our unspoken love;
We’d have countless things to say.
If we could bring you back again,
We’d say we treasured you,
And that your presence in our lives
Meant more than we ever knew.
If we could bring you back again,
To tell you what we should,
You’d know how much we miss you now,
And if we could, we would.
Ray brought so much to so many people. You will be greatly missed Ray.
With our sincerest sympathies,
Doris Kutcher and family
