Obituary of Joanne Catherine Hoogenboom

Hoogenboom, Joanne - January 17, 1923 - January 11, 2014 Peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Linhaven Home for the Aged in her 91st year. Beloved wife and best friend of Jack for 66 years. Loving mother of Kees, Fred (Debbie), Jerry, Tom, Dennis, Pauline (John) . Cherished Oma, and Grandma of Corrie (Cara), Brett (Liane), Ryan, Kristine, Craig, and Samantha. Special Great-Grandma of Breanna, Calvin, Jacob, Caleb, Coryna, and Cassidy.Predeceased by her Dear brother Gijs Van Leeuwen, and sister Catrien Mastenbroek. Also survived by her many family members in Holland. Joanne was loved by all who knew her, and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her many family and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Wong, and the staff at Linhaven for their kind, and compassionate care. Friends may visit the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 fro 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Vigil Prayers will be held on Tuesday at 3 pm. A funeral Mass wll be celebrated at Star of the Sea, 34 Elgin St. Port Dalhousie on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations in Joanne's memory to the Alzhiemers Society would be appreciated by the family.
