We first met Lena in 1975 when we arrived in Belleville from England. We were totally lost as to what to do first after arriving the day before. Walking down the main street we stopped and looked in Fosters Realty's window and spoke with Lena. She was so kind and she and Lloyd 'took us under their wings'. She made sure we had somewhere to stay while we purchased our house and even helped us to move.
We stayed in touch and loved visiting their home and acreage. We would sit around the table and the usual coffee would be served and we would all chat and laugh like friends do.
When we moved to BC we still stayed in touch and called in when we visited Ontario. We would all laugh about her driving the Cadillac. She was just incredible.
We lost touch for a while and only a month ago I e-mailed her and she was just her usual vibrant self.
Lena was one of the kindest, jolly and energetic people that we have had the pleasure to meet.
We will surely miss this wonderful lady and friend.

Lloyd, you must be lost. don't ever remember seeing one of you without the other.
My memory goes to sitting in your kitchen out on the estate on Blessington Road. My memory will go only to laughter and the fun we had while doing, business, having tea, sharing recipes(all at the same time) and Lena keeping all of us on our toes. I loved her for her honesty, her spirit and saying it just the way it was.
The loves of her life were you and her dear son Bruce.....and of course her grandchildren. She spoke with such pride when you moved back to St. Catharines where you could be near them.
She lived life to the fullest and taught us all much.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Words can't express how sad I am to have lost Lena Stewart. Bruce has always been my dearest friend, and she and Lloyd were a major fixture in my teen years. For so long she seemed to be unstoppable, and her passing still feels unbelievable.
My greatest sympathies Lloyd, Bruce and their families.

Sincere deepest sympathy to Lloyd, Bruce & family. Lena will live forever in my heart, just knowing her made my life richer. She was like a mother to me and was always there for me. Always with a smile and a joke to make you laugh, made being around her a joy. She will surely be missed.

It is with mixed emotions that I sit here this afternoon remembering....so many times that we enjoyed together since 1993 when we first met. Little did we know that our paths would cross and we would become such good friends.
Farewell, dear friend....
