Obituary of Emmy Anna Long

Long, Emmy Anna Peacefully at the Heidehof Home for the Aged on December 14, 2013 in her 97th year. Loving wife of the late Otto for 55 years. Devoted Mother of Berny (Anne). Cherished Oma of Catherine, Christine, and Karen. and Proud great-Grandma of Noah, Alexander, and Caryss. Dear Sister of Hilda (Gerald 2006) Marion. Predeceased by her Brothers Willy, and Frederick, and Sister-In-Law Sadie. Emmy was a charter member of Club Heidelberg, an active member of the women's auxilary of Club Heidelberg, and a long time member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Emmy was loved by all and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews family and friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heidehof Home for the Aged for their kind and compassionate care of Emmy for the last 3 years. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 20th from 10 - 11 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 213 Linwell Rd. St. Catharines. A funeral service celebrating Emmy's life will take place after the visitation at 11 am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, an act of kindness to someone in Emmy's memory, or a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Chapel.
