Obituary of Lawrence Walter Stokaluk
Stokaluk, Lawrence W. - On December 1, 2013 at the St. Catharines General Hosptial in his 92nd year. Survived by his beloved wife Elsie of 66 years. Devoted dad to Bonnie (Garnet) Daley. Cherished brother to Emil of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Special sister-in-law Phyllis who called on many ocassions and offered her prayers. Predeceased by brothers Stan, Mike, Paul, Steve, Sam and Julian. Lawrence served in the Canadian Navy during WWII as a D.E.M.S. Gunner and was awarded a service medal from the Norwegian government for a tour of duty on one of their ships. He owned his sheet metal and heating business for 30 years. Loved his trade - never going to work but to "the shop." He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Merritton Branch 138. A former member of the R.C.N.A Niagara Falls and Twenty Valley Golf and Country Club. Dad loved his birds and asked on Wednesday November 27, 2013 if there was seed in the feeders for them. Even though his own life was ebbing he thought of lovely nature. In accordance with Lawrence's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. We shall miss your smile, kindness and sense of humour. Enjoy your time in golf heaven with your brothers. Until we meet again.
