Obituary of Katharina Machek

MACHEK, Katharina Went home to be with her Lord and Savior, after she had a very peaceful and Holy passing, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Victoria Hospital in London, at the age of 81. Katharina was predeceased by her beloved husband Victor Ludwig (1995), also by her two daughters Maria (1952) and Maria (1955). Loving mother of Ludwig (Spezi), Sylvia, Peter and Rick. Katharina was the cherished Oma of 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Katharina will be sadly missed by many friends and neighbours in London and by her furry companion Benji. Katharina was the Matriarch of the family. She showed her love by being truthful and strong, and she faced adversity with courage. Katharina was a woman of Faith and was devoted to praying the Holy Rosary. Fittingly, in her final moments of passing, Katharina took her last breath during the Third Decade of the Glorious Mysteries. Katharina was very grateful for the compassion and support that was given by the staff at the Victoria Hospital, especially the London Regional Cancer Program. A special thanks to Mom's "angel", Haneen Rafehi for her unconditional love and care. In accordance with Katharina's wishes, cremation has taken place, with no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 1:30 pm, at Our Lady of Scapular Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Rd, Niagara Falls. As an expression of sympathy, flowers would be appreciated or donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
