Obituary of Rolland Charles Portelance

PORTELANCE, Rolland Surrounded by his family at his bedside, he passed away peacefully after a short but hard fought battle with cancer at the age of 66 on Friday, November 15th at the St. Catharines General Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife Pauline of 47 years, his daughters Paula Portelance, Cindy (Michael) Fegan and Amanda Portelance-Farquharson, and son Rolly Portelance. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Jessica, Brendan, Joshua and Jordyn, sister Madelaine (Johnny) Caron, brothers Louie and Jack Portelance and his cherished Morrone family. Adored brother in law and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He worked as a sheet metal worker at Sheehan Plumbing and Heating for over 39 years and proudly went on to open his own business "R.P. Heating". Rolland enjoyed hunting, quad running and the great outdoors. He was always there with a helping hand with an amazing gift to be able to repair anything for anybody. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Rolland's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Monday, November 18th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church at 11am. If desired, memorial donations to the St. Catharines General Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Be in peace our strong hero.
