Obituary of Lillian Mary Ackrill
ACKRILL, Lillian Mary
Peacefully in her sleep, on November 13th, 2013, Lillian Mary Ackrill, in her 90th year, has reunited with her beloved husband, George (August 2000). She will be greatly missed by her daughter Shelley and her husband Joe Franklin, his mother Mary Franklin and his children, Jenni McLean & family, Marey Martin & family, Becki Pauls & family, and Bill Franklin. Lillian will also be fondly remembered her sister and family and friends in England and Canada.
Mum worked in the British Underground during WWII, then married and came to Canada as a warbride. She was a strong, determined lady who would help quietly behind the scenes to those who were in need.
I shall miss you immensely Mum, but I have many happy and funny memories to live on in my heart. God bless you!
Many thanks to the thoughtful and caring staff past and present on 5E at Albright Manor, for your wonderful care.
Friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, November 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Lillian's life will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, 2250 Highway 20, Fonthill.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Columba Church would be appreciated by the family.
