Obituary of Oliva Pazzelli

PAZZELLI, Oliva Surrounded by her loving family, Oliva passed away peacefully on October 24, 2013 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 92nd year. Oliva was predeceased by her beloved husband Gino (1963) and by her daughter Luisa Collini (2003). Cherished mother of Ivo (RoseMarie) and mother in law of Tony Collini. Loving Nonni of Dino (Luana), Tom (Anna), Elizabeth (Nicholas), John and Great Nonni of Victoria, Daniel and Clark. Dear sister of the late Fiorinda and her husband Quarto, Oliva is also survived by her sister Marfisa (the late Luigi) and her brother Mario (Pat) and by their families. Oliva was a dedicated parishioner of St. Alfred's Church, St. Catharines. Oliva immigrated to Canada in 1950 and settled in St. Catharines. Oliva was employed as a seamstress for over 40 years. Oliva will be remembered as a strong, faithful, compassionate and giving woman, who cared immensely for her family and friends. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses from the NHS- St. Catharines Site and the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital for their exceptional care and support. Oliva's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St.,on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Prevention and Community Research or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
