Obituary of George Wallace

WALLACE, George T. After a courageous battle with cancer, George passed away on Sunday, October 6th, 2013, with his wife by his side, at the age of 73, never losing hope. Loving husband and best friend of Micheline (nee Gagné) for 26 years. Dear father to Abbey and Edward (both of Vancouver). Stepfather to Sean Novak (Reneé) and Ryan Novak (Erin). Loving grandpa to Brayden, Nathan and Bryson. Predeceased by his parents Olive Amelia and George Wallace Sr. Loving brother of Donna Genore (Charles) and the late David J. Wallace (2012) and his wife Nancy. Brother-in-law to Henrietta Steers and Claude (Dorothy) Gagné. George will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was a former employee of General Motors of Canada in St. Catharines, retiring in 1991. George enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, wintering in Florida, and his little peace of heaven on Centennial Lake. Special thanks to Dr. Zanke, Dr. Buxton and the care and compassion George received from Hospice Renfrew and staff at Renfrew Hospital. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, October 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of George's life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 11th, with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
