Obituary of Ella Christie

CHRISTIE, Bella (nee Gordon) "Ella" At Tufford Nursing Home in St. Catharines, peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, September 20, 2013 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of John for 60 years. Loving and cherished mother of Gordon (Melody), Russell (Lynn), Stuart and his wife Sabina. Wonderful Granma of Johnathon and Jaymie. Also survived by her sister Ruth in Scotland. Predeceased by her sister Nan and her brother Alec. Ella was actively involved with ladies fashionwear in the city and was an avid bowler and golfer. Special thanks to Loretta and the staff at Tufford for their kindness and compassion. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, September 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Ella's life will be held on Monday, September 23rd at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region would be appreciated by the family.
