Although I never knew Pat on a personal level, I have heard many stories about Pat's playing days with the Hamilton Hurricanes. I know that Pat loved his family and friends as well as football. On behalf of the Hamilton Hurricanes, I would like to take this time to express our sincere condolences to Pat's family, friends and fellow teammates...I am sure he will be deeply missed. God Bless#22.

This comes as a real shock. Pat and I played together on the St. Catharines Spears many years ago and I look back on that time fondly. He was a very talented ball player and a natural leader. He never, ever gave up. It was a pleasure to have been his team mate, he has left us far too soon. RIP.

I was shocked to hear the passing of Pat.My wife and I ran into him in the spring and shared a few laughs of good old Lakeport.I told Jill, Pat was a great football player and that if he grew up in Port Dalhousie, he probably would have been a great lacrosse player too! Our heartfelt sympathy to the family.

Pat was and still is one of my best friends. We had too many fun times to list them all here but I know that many of you who read this will share on some of our memories. I apologize for my selfishness for I will not mourn the passing of my friend but rather cherish and embrace the living. I was fortunate enough to have visited with Pat the last time I was in town. I am blessed that I had a chance to chat and catch up and reminisce about old times. My memories of Pat are forever locked away and that is how I will choose to remember my friend. Lois, I miss you girl. Lois, Chris, Paul and Sandi, know that mine and my family's thoughts and prayers are with you all through this difficult time.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Pat. I know how difficult this is for the family and want you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I remember the first day I met Pat back in 1971 when he tried out for the Pee Wee Lions. From the very first practice the coaches knew we had something special in this twelve year old, 110 pound boy. Even back then you could see the extraordinary talent he possessed. I was blessed to coach him throughout his four year minor football career. It was a pleasure every weekend to watch him and be thrilled by him. As a member of the St. Catharines Spears I remember him scoring five touchdowns in our final two games as he lead the Spears to Niagara's first Ontario Minor Football Championship. Everybody who saw him play marvelled at his talent. As a coach I got to see more than his physical skills. In practice I got to see the intangible qualities. He was a leader. It is often said that it takes time to "earn" the respect of others. Showing up early, demonstrating a exemplary work ethic, a winning morale, exhibiting tremendous skill and a sense of responsibility are things Pat brought to the field every day. Maintaining this respect week after week, season after season separates the leaders from the other players. This describes Pat completely. I was again fortunate to coach him after he finished high school and went to the Hamilton Hurricanes. Even in a league of 22 year olds, Pat commanded the same respect and performed at the same level of greatness he had as a young boy. If they ever start a minor football hall of fame, number 22 Pat Marinacci should be the first inductee.

I was sad to hear of the passing of Pat. I've known Pat for many years and always enjoyed when I would run into him. His talent for the game of football ranks up with the best of them. Whether I was playing against him, with him or just watching him was always a thrill. The things he could do on a football field were simply amazing,he made the game fun every time he played, what a talent. Not to mention his wonderful sense of humour and his great smile. My brothers and I will miss him. Our hearts go out to the family.
