Obituary of Margaret Christina Lemay (nee Scott)

Lemay, Margaret "Maggie" (nee Scott) - During her long battle with ALS, Maggie remained at home with the care of her family as per her wishes. The disease peacefully took her on August 31, 2013 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 63. Loving wife and best friend of Jules for over 38 years. Devoted mom to Kim (Carey) Neal and Tammy Villeneuve. Beloved Nanny to Cassie, Brad, Kelsie and Nathan. Cherished sister to Anne (Paul), Leo (Sylvia), Charlie, Mike (Jenny), Moe (Mary), and Kathy. Will be sadly missed by Jules' daughter Ronda (Neil) Wood and his granddaughter Regan. Dear sister-in-law of Lucienne (Andre), Yvette (Rosaire), George (Anne), Claudette (Moe), Clemence, Noel (Sue), Gerard (Lois), Paul (Mich). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members, and will be sadly missed by her constant companion, Bijou. Predeceased by her parents Alec and Julie Scott and Martha and Herman, sisters-in-law Juliette Gosselin, Margaret Beauparlant, Lina Belanger and brother-in-law Clement. Maggie was a devoted nurse for over 30 years and took great pride in caring for others. Her friends and family could count on her to be the life of the party, and will have many fond memories of all the times together. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Maggie will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11am. Memorial donations to go to patient care ALS Clinic - McMaster University Hospital in Maggie's honour.
