Obituary of Bryan David Morris

MORRIS Bryan David, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 14th, 2013 at the St. Catharines Hospital, at the age of 64. Loving husband and best friend of Sharon (McGeorge) for 38 years. Devoted father of Sean (Shaunna) and Holly Morris. Cherished son of Billie Morris and son-in-law of Gerry McGeorge. Dear brother of Gayle and Ian (Mary) Morris. Brother-in-law of Al (Chris) McGeorge and Blair (Kathy) Campbell. Bryan will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Gordon Morris and father-in-law Edward McGeorge. Bryan was employed with the City of St Catharines for many years. He coached St. Catharines Ringette, Port Weller Soccer, Grantham Optimist Baseball, Jr. "A" Lacrosse and Port Weller T-ball. He was also a member of the St. Catharines Air Cadets with whom he traveled to Norway in 1966 and went on to obtain his pilot's licence. He was a member and past president of the St. Catharines Optimist Club, a past member of the St. Catharines Rowing Club and a former competitive speed skater. Bryan enjoyed playing alongside his son Sean in the City of St. Catharines Hacker's Golf League for the past 8 years and was one of the original members since its inception in 1980. He enjoyed his many family trips to Myrtle Beach, which he held dear to his heart. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. on Monday, August 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A service to celebrate Bryan's life will be held in the chapel on Tuesday August 20th at 12:30 pm. Burial to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Reception to follow the interment at Grantham Lions Club, 732 Niagara Street, St. Catharines. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
