Obituary of Joe Mirka

MIRKA, Joseph Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, August 16th, 2013 at the Hotel Dieu-Shaver Hospital at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 40 years of Agnes. Cherished father of Alex (Dianne), Eugene, and Lorna (Rob). Loving grampa of Melissa, Nicholas (Kristin), Madalyn, Benjamin and Macy. Joe worked at the Hotel Dieu for twenty-five years. He was a proud member of the Scottish Club and met many great friends there over the years. Joe was always full of life and will be deeply missed. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday, August 20th from 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Joe's life will be held on Wednesday, August 21st at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
