Obituary of Harold (Harry) Norman Hesp
HESP, Harold (Harry) N.- At home on June 9, 2001, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Harry, aged 64, went home to be with the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Beloved husband of Irene (Harvey) of 40 years. Loving father of Robert (Sandy) Hesp, Judi (Brock) Simmons and Karlene (Cliff) Fletcher. Dearly loved Grandpa to his "Magnificent Seven" Natasha, Brock, Trevor, Abby, Jack, Gregory and Lauren. Dear brother of Nelda, David, Helen, Stanley, Kenneth and Beverly. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Nellie and Forest Hesp, and five brothers and sisters.
Harry's passion for life was constructing churches. Also close to his heart were the two years he and Irene spent in Kenya doing volunteer missionary work. His faith in God, jovial smile and sense of humour will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Harry is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. Visiting hours are Monday, June 11 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be at CENTRAL GOSPEL TEMPLE, 240 Scott Street, on Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation at 12:30 p.m., prior to the service at CGT. Interment to follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery, Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Instead of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC)-Missions for scholarships at Pan Africa Christian College, Nairobi, Kenya.
