Labiuk George Matthew it is with great sadness we announce his passing on Tuesday June 5, 2001 after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. George was born on March 5, 1929 in Mountain Road Manitoba, devoted and loving husband for 50 years (June 2-2001) of Vicky, loving father of Virginia and K.C. MacLean, Larry and Rosalie Labiuk, Richard and Debbie Labiuk, Vicky and Nestor Komar. Much adored dido of Lannette, Cam (Christina), David MacLean; Carey (Leanne), Jeremy (Connie), Becky (Mike),Joey Labiuk; James, Jeff Labiuk; Alexandra, Adrianne Komar; proud great dido of Curtis Labiuk. George was the brother of Nick (Opal) of Nova Scotia, Bill (Pauline), Andy (Elsie), Mike (Shirley) all of British Columbia, Metro (Sonia) of Beamsville, Anne Sholdra of Toronto and survived by his in laws, John (Jeannette), Josie, Molly, Ann, Rudy, John, Nick and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents Matey and Martha, sisters Mary, Jean and Tillie, brothers John and Victor. George was an active member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Catharines Cribbage League, C.A.W. Seniors and Friday a.m. Seniors Bowling Leagues, retired from General Motors of Canada in 1990. George is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 9:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in Sts. Cyril and Methodus Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal will be held in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Panachyda will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thurs. at 7:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wed. 7-9 p.m. and Thurs. 2-4& 7-9 p.m. Memorial remembrances to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Building Fund or Community Care Access Centre would be appreciated by the family.
