Obituary of Giovanni Genovese

GENOVESE, Giovanni Peacefully, on Saturday, May 26th, 2001 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in his 79th year after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Irma. Dear father of Gabriella (Dino) Pozzobon, Mary (Ian) Niven, and John (Nancy) Genovese. Loving Nonno of Dan, Mike, Stephanie, Liam, Aaron, Nicole, and Eric. Also survived by brother Rino and sister Maria of Italy. Giovanni was a long time member of Club Roma and St. Alfred's Parish. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Casselman, Dr. Kerley, Dr. Paolone, and the most caring nurses of the 4th floor at the Hotel Dieu Hospital. Mr. Genovese is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Wednesday at 9:30am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church on Wednesday at 10:00am. Rite of Committal at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Giovanni to the Hotel Dieu Oncology would be appreciated by the family.
