Obituary of Andrew Peter Van de Laar
VAN DE LAAR, Andrew Peter
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our angel, Andrew, on October 27, 2000 after a courageous battle with a degenerative disease. Andrew was 3 1/2 years old. Andrew will be missed dearly by his loving parents, Chris and Laura and devoted big sister Erica, grandparents Peter and Cathy Van de Laar and Jack and Ann Halliday, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Mario Lostracco and cousins Michael and Melissa, Aunt Dianne and Uncle David Valentim and cousins Mark and Nicole. Andrew was a special boy who touched many hearts, both during the 2 1/2 years before he became ill and during the year he battled the disease. We will always miss and cherish our angel Andrew.
Andrew's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., until Monday at 9:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin St., Port Dalhousie at 10am. Rite of committal will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. Visiting hours Saturday 7-9pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm. The family would appreciate memorial donations being directed to Leigh's Disease Research, c/o Dr. Mark Tarnopolski, 3rd floor, McMaster Children's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House of Hamilton.
