Obituary of John Joseph Newman

NEWMAN, John Joseph (Jack) Passed quietly away at the Hotel Dieu Hospital on Friday, September 14th, 2001. Beloved husband of Jessie. Loving father of Steve and Ellen both of Hamilton, Cynthia, Jeff and Debbie all of St. Catharines, Andrea and David Holden of London. Loving grandfather of Ben and Lucas Playford, Josh and Emily Buller, Emma and Colter Holden. Brother of Ola McLennan and Celina Neil both of Cornwall and predeceased by Rita Blackwell, Helen Loucks, James Newman, and Hilda Lauzon. Survived by the McIntosh and Newman nieces and nephews. Jack worked for the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority and Parks Canada. Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather who served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WW II and loved to ride his bike. Cremation. A Memorial Mass for Jack will be celebrated at Star of the Sea Church on Tuesday at 11:00am. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Hotel Dieu Oncology Unit would be appreciated by the family.
