Obituary of Annie May Matthews

Matthews, Annie May Peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 2, 2001. Annie May Matthews in her 81st year. Loving wife of the late James (Jim) Matthews, beloved mother of Wesley & Betty Matthews, Jean Keyes, Jim & Margaret Matthews, Angela and James Bryant, Vivien Tonkonoh, Neil & Carol Matthews, Norma and the late Paul Walsh, Derry Matthews, and Christopher & Michelle Matthews, dear Nanny to 25 grandchildren and big nanny to 11 great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by Bryn and Raymond Edwards and families in Wales and 3 beloved sisters Megan Juliff, Gwen Evans and Betty Johnson and families. Annie was a dedicated member of the nursing staff at the Hotel Dieu Hospital and St. Catharines General Hospital for many years. Mrs. Matthews is resting at the George Darte North Chapel, 585 Carlton St. where a funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 p.m. Interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Remembrances to the Hotel Dieu Hospital Dialysis Unit would be appreciated by the family. Family members extend a special thank you to Doctors and Nurses of the Hemo Dialysis Unit at the Hotel Dieu Hospital for their care and support.
