Obituary of Mary Margaret Monaghan

MONAGHAN (Kelly), Mary Margaret -January 1, 1915 - August 21, 2001, born Belfast Co Antrim, Ireland. Peacefully after a brave struggle with cancer on Tuesday August 21, 2001 at the St. Catharines General Hospital in her 87th year, beloved wife of the late John Monaghan (1952). Survived by her loving daughters Eleanor (Patrick), Philomena (Cahal), Margaret (Jim). Also survived by her grandchildren: Philomena (Rob), Paula (Derek), Colleen, Nuala, John, Cahal, Siobhan, Paul, Patricia and Patrick. Also survived by her great-granddaughters Fiona and Riley. Also survived by her sisters Sarah (Belfast), Ellen (Nellie), Philomena and Theresa (Dolly) all of Philadelphia. Predeceased by her mother and father James and Ellen Kelly and her seven brothers. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends at home and abroad. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Pray for Us. Mrs. Monaghan is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Thursday at 9:30am. Funeral liturgy to be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church Thursday at 10:00am. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers for the deceased Wednesday at 7:30pm at the funeral home. Memorial remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
