Dear Tobin,
Just a short message to express my deepest sympathies to you and your family. It was very obvious to me during the short time spent coaching you at SWC that your parents were terrific people. Your mom seemed to be one of those few persons who could put a smile on anyone's face. The entire rowing community is thinking about you.

Mr. Ireland ( coach ) and Emily ( our goalie)
Memories are life's treasures. Once they are discovered, they are yours to keep forever.
I will always remember our late night soccer games. As I looked towards the sidelines, one Bulldog fan will always remain in my mind. Mrs. Ireland's sweet smile and encouraging cheer always uplifted our momentum and kept us playing as a "team." She will be sadly missed on and off the field.
Mr. Ireland and Emily, cherish all of your precious memories.

My heartfelt sympathy to Barry and the children, the Irelands and the Loucks. Cathy was a cherished childhood friend. We spent endless hours playing near the creek at Marsdale, having fun sleepless-overs, and long summer days at the Lake Erie cottage collecting polished glass on the beach. Cathy played with dolls and rough-housed with her brothers. She was the youngest, but even at 8 years old, she held her own. She introduced me to simple pleasures, like chewing fresh tar from the road, and singing, loudly, in the tunnel under Glendale. Cathy was younger than me by one day and years ahead on life values. Home and family were first, and she happily included me with hers, as kids in our jammies wrestling for morning cereal on Saturday morning, and later at Christmases singing the "12 days". Thank you God, for Cathy. She has been a blessing in my life and will always have a place in my heart.

My deepest condolences to all of Cathy's beloved family and friends. She was a remarkable woman, wife, mother and friend and we are all blessed to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with Barry and the children. Mere words cannot begin to express your loss. Cathy helped me through my own mother's death when I was Emily's age and for that I will always be eternally grateful to her, and would like in some way for Emily and her boys to know that I am here for them always.
May God bless each of you and may you feel his love now more than ever. Peace be with each of you. My love and heartfelt prayers are with you. Your mother will always be your guardian angel, on that you can be certain ~

Dear Baden, Tobin, Emily,
When your Mom told me that she and your Dad were moving to Sovereign Drive - she was so excited that she was planting roots for her family to grow and flourish. That's where I grew up. It was lots of fun walking past your Mom's house on the way to Oakridge school. Then our paths crossed at Lady Churchill and then Sir Winston Churchill. Such fun we all had :)
Who would have ever known 40 years later I would walk to the woods and past the house that grew with you children. A home she and your Dad made for you all - filled with love and lots of fun and laughter. We could hear your laughter - spilling into the street. A smile like a moonbeam always shining as I passed by, blended in with a wave as she set put on yet another adventure.
She's begun a new journey now - and we all feel the sadness that we are left behind but hold fast to the hope around you. Let God wrap his loving arms around you. You are the 'gifts' that she planted. Blossom !
She always talked of how she LOVED you - her family.

To: Barry, Emily, Tobin, Baden, families and friends,
Words cannot adequately express our deepest sorrow over the loss of such a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and neighbour. Our thoughts are with you at this most difficult time. It's such an unexpected shock, while trying to comprehend this great loss.
Cathy touched many people's lives with her smile, enthusiasm, helpfulness, and her loving devotion to her family. She was hardworking and committed to any task or challenge presented to her. Whether it be
working in the community, at the family busines, in our children's school, or on the tennis court, Cathy always gave fully of herself in a friendly, dedicated and respectful way, to others. I will always be grateful for her cheerful, caring, compassionate manner and easy going nature. To me, Cathy was a wonderful neighbour, classmate,(Oakridge @ SWC), a terrific tennis player, and fellow fun loving parent, who always put her family first. A quality that I really admire in both Cathy and Barry.
I will always appreciate Cathy's contribution to Oakridge school, as an actively involved parent who always gave freely of her time and effort, so others benefited. Thank you.
Cathy will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Cathy was a remarkable and talented lady, whom I had the wonderful pleasure of knowing over the years. I'd be most willing and happy to help out in any way that I can. To Barry..I wish for you a speedy and complete recovery. At Knox Presbyterian Church, this morning, our minister prayed for you and your family, as he did last Sunday as well. I believe in the power of prayer, so it is my wish for you, Barry, Emily, Tobin and Baden, that you draw on faith, hope and the strong love of family and friends for support to help you through this terrible time of tragedy and grief, so healing can
can happen. I will keep you in my prayers.
Brian also sends his condolences to you.
Sincerely, Barbara Lee

Barry, Baden, Tobin and Emily: Mr. & Mrs. Ireland: Mrs. Loucks and to the rest of the family:
Words cannot adequately begin to express my sincere sympathy and sadness to you all. I know myself how preciously short and valuable life is. In a very brief period of time we have lost two important people in our lives - my sister, Darlene on March 12, 2002 and now Cathy. It came as an extreme shock to us.
Cathy was a wonderful lady who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing. She always had a friendly smile. She was always helpful and courteous. She loved what she was doing. Although it has been several years - it seems like only yesterday that we were all working together in the store.
She was a wonderful and loving mother to her children, who place much pride in their accomplishments. I am sure that she has established the foundation and strength within them so that they will carry on.
Barry - I know that the road to recovery will be painful and difficult. Cathy was indeed your sole mate. You will miss her - keep the memory of her alive and her spirit going.
I know you are all asking how could something like this happen? Why would God do such a thing? We can only rest our faith in him. Especially in times like this. A wise person once said take each minute, each hour, each day, month or year one step at a time and time will heal. Like us, you have to believe this too.
I wish you all much strength and courage in the coming days and weeks. With the strong family ties that you all hold - you will pull through this. Cathy will be sorely missed.
Much love to you all,
Melodee, Clay
David and Katrina Foster
