Obituary of Antonio Milana

Milana, Antonio Passed away at age 74 on Monday, March 11, 2002 at the St. Catharines Hotel Dieu Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dearly loved husband of Giuseppina (Cotroneo) for 48 years. Loving father of Angelo (Franca), George (Lina), Gary, Joseph, Mario and Rocco (Peggy) of St. Catharines. Beloved Nonno of Anthony, Rocco, Felisia, Alyssa and Natasha. Survived by brothers Rocco (Pina) Milana, Rosario (Angela) Milana of St. Catharines, sister Angelina (Filippo) Zito of Toronto and sister in law Gina Milana of Torino, Italy. He will be missed by brother in laws Antonino (Grazia) Cotroneo, Santo (Franca) Bambara, Rocco (Maria) Calarco and Lorenzo (Concetta) Creazzo of Reggio Calabria, Italy. Predeceased by his father Angelo (1978), his mother Giuseppina (2000) of St. Catharines and his brother Giuseppe (1999) of Torino, Italy. He will be missed by his aunt, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends in Canada and Italy. Antonio emigrated from San Roberto, Reggio Calabria in 1951 and retired from Ontario Paper Company in 1987. He was a member of St. Alfred's Church, the Italian Catholic Center and Club Calabrese. Mr. Milana is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., until Thursday at 9:00am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church at 9:30am. Rite of Committal will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 7-9pm and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:15pm. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
