Obituary of Giovanni Costantini

Costantini, Giovanni On Monday March 11, 2002 at the St. Catharines General Hospital in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Adelaide for 62 years. Loving father of Maria Vittoria Sorgente (Giovanni), Giancarlo (Lorna), Roberto (Chris). Devoted grandfather (scia-scio) to Marilu D'Amore (Pat), Pina Taraba (Chris), Anna Sheridan (John), Andrea, Sara, Carlo, Dan, Lelia, Irene, and great-grandfather to Sidney, Erica, Meaghan, Spencer, Joshua, and Carson. Survived by his sisters Concetta and Emma Costantini. Predeceased by his sister Lelia and brothers Luigi and Biaggio. Born April 15, 1913 Silvi Paese, Provincia di Teramo, Italia. He came to Canada in 1951 where he worked at Port Weller Dry Docks until his retirement in 1978. Giovanni was a member of the Combattenti e Reduci Peninsola and St. Alfred's Church. Mr. Costantini is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 9:00am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church at 9:30 am. Rite of Committal will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 7-9pm and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be celebrated at the funeral home Thursday at 7:45pm. Memorial remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
