Obituary of Elena Walsh

WALSH, Elena Mae (Pearce) Peacefully, at Tufford Nursing Home on Friday, January 25th, 2002 in her 99th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank (1981). Survived by her sons William (Margaret) Walsh of N.O.T.L., Dr. Fred (Gretchen) Walsh of California, Leo (Sharon) Walsh of St. Catharines and daughters Clara (Jim) Phillips of N.O.T.L., Mary (Henry 1983) Werner of Saskatchewan, Anne (Bill 1990) Primeau of Toronto, Helen (Lynn) Cratt of St. Catharines, Teresa (Hank 1993) Ferland, of St. Catharines, Sheila (Mike) Voisin of Pembroke, and daughter in law Kathleen Walsh. Predeceased by her sons Jim (1989) & Betty (1997) Walsh, John Walsh (2000), and daughters Flora Barber (1979), Margaret (2000) & Frank (1997) Faulkner. Predeceased by 2 grandsons baby Joseph (1956), Brian Cratt (2001). She is survived by 49 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. Also survived by her sister Evelyn Pounder of Niagara Falls. Frank & Elena had a home and fruit farm on Lakeshore Road, and Mom loved to oil paint in her younger years. Elena was a devoted church member, past President of St. Alfred's CWL and a present member of St. Thomas Aquinas CWL. Mrs. Walsh is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL. 585 Carlton St. until Tuesday at 10:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Tuesday at 11:00am. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visitation Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to MS Research would be appreciated by the family.
