Obituary of Henry Scharer

Scharer, Henry Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at St. Catharines General Hospital. Henry Scharer in his 90th year; husband of the late Myrtle (1989), loving father of Bob and his wife Susan of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Barbara and her husband Bob Etherington of St. Catharines, dear loving grandpa of the late Matt (1993), Kelly, Ryan, Drew and Deena. Survived by his sister Margaret of British Columbia and predeceased by 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Mr. Scharer had worked at General Motors for 33 years before retiring. He enjoyed bowling with the General Motors Retiree League for many years, gardening and had a fond love of the outdoors. Mr. Scharer is resting at the George Darte North Chapel, 585 Carlton St. where a celebration of life will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Visiting Hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private interment will be held at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
