Obituary of John Pasemko

PASEMKO, John W. With great sadness we mourn the passing of John. He died peacefully with his family at his side, on Saturday, December 22, 2001 at the Shaver Hospital in St. Catharines, ON. Beloved husband of Nellie (Nel) for 54 happy years. Loving father of Linda (Frank) Stewart of Fonthill, Larry (Theresa) of Toronto, and Alan Pasemko of Victoria, B.C.. Beloved Grandpa of Alison, Hailey, and Max. He is survived by his 5 sisters and many nieces and nephews. Born near Edmonton, Alberta, John was a successful realtor in Toronto for 15 years, and later a prominent businessman and hotelier in St. Catharines and Oshawa, Ontario. John was a past president of the St. Catharines Hotel Association and actively involved in the business community. With an affection for golf, he was a member of the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club for 45 years. John was also a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church. A generous, caring person, John loved life and people. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Mr. Pasemko is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Thursday December 27th at 9:30am. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church on Thursday at 10:00am. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday December 26th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Panachyda (Prayers) will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Children of Chernobyl or Hotel Dieu Hospital Development Fund would be appreciated by the family.
