STEVENSON WILLIAM JOHN On Saturday December 15, 2001, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at 65 years of age. Beloved husband of Dianne. Loving father of Peggy Stevenson, Bill (Suezette), Eric (Kelly), Julia (Sean) Wales, Erica Durham (fiance John Hodgson), and Jeffery . Loving friend of Muriel Stevenson, mother of Peggy, Bill and Eric. Dear grandpa of Nicholas, Tiffany, Mackenzie and Lauren. Cherished son of Frances and the late William Stevenson. Dear brother of Diane (Chuck) Therriault, Carolann (Edward) Verbiwski, Joane (Ronald) McGuire, Suzane (Rick) Bacon, Nancy Ann (Wes) Stonos and Frances Ann (Kevin) Robins. Dear son in law of Ivy and the late Russell Burnison. Brother in law of Gale (Kathy ) Burnison. Predeceased by his infant grandson Austin. Bill will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bill was an alderman in St. Patrick's ward for 6 years, a member of the Jaycees, Faithful Navigator of Msgr. Morris Assembly Knight's of Columbus (4th Degree) Bill brought amateur football to St. Catharines and was actively involved in rowing and C.H.R.C.. He will be greatly missed in the community. Mr. Stevenson is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Wednesday at 1:00pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Denis Church at 1:30pm Rite of committal in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30pm. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial remembrances to the St. Catharines Rowing Club towards the purchase of a shell would be appreciated by the family.
