Obituary of Donald Stewart Snell

Snell, Donald Stewart Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, peacefully at home with his family on Sunday December 2, 2001. Survived by beloved wife LaVerne of 56 years, sadly missed by children Mark and Barb Snell, Karen and Gary Blank, Vikki Longlade, Doreen and Ken Barker of Orillia, Dawn-Marie and Steve Rennie, Terri Snell and Peter Asselbergs of Italy, Kathy Dick and Randy Owens, Tim and Barb Snell, dear brother of Jeanette (Vic) Urbanic of Florida, Marlene (Brian) McDonald of St. Catharines and Coak (Carol) Snell of Mississauga. Predeceased by mother Gladys Muller, father Lloyd Snell and sister Pat Snell. Loving grandfather of Billie (Chris) Hawkswell and Mark Snell Jr., Greg and Jamie Blank, David and Linsay Longlade, Craig Barker, Jeff and Jana Rennie, Julie Rambaldi, Jennifer and Jillian Dick, Ashley, Timmy and Montana Snell and Stephanie, Chris and Mark Grundy, great grandfather of Adam, Connor and Alyssa Hawkswell. Mr. Snell was a veteran of W.W.II, Past Vice President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, Former Owner of Niagara Glass Ltd. for 40 years, coached Canadian Legion Hockey, Jr. B. Hockey Executive, avid Handball Player, coached Women's and Men's Slo Pitch Baseball and was past president of St. Alfred's Bowling League. Mr. Snell is resting at the George Darte North Chapel, 585 Carlton St. until Wednesday at 9:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Star of the Sea Church at 10:00am. with Rite of Committal in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 7-9pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
