Obituary of Lucy Meighan

Meighan, Lucy (nee Smith) Peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Saturday, December 1, 2001, in her 88th year. Predeceased by her husband Murray (1979) and her loved son Bruce (1983). Beloved Mom of Barbara Shugan and her husband John, and Mary Lou Rankie and her husband David. Much loved Nan of Michael (Rhonda), Marcia, Wendy (Al), Joann (Dave), Blair (Angie), Maridavid (Edmund), and Blake (Amanda). Treasured Great Nan of 12 loving greatgrandchildren. Lovingly remembered by Darlene and Jennifer, Dale and Deborah. Survived by her loving brother Norman and his wife Bernice Smith, brother in law Ronald Meighan and his wife Connie, sister in law Thelma and her husband George Favell. Also survived by caring cousins, nephews and nieces, especially Mary Louise Smith, friends Bill & Myra Bryson and family and her many friends on Trillium Ward. Lucy was an avid Bingo player and a former executive member of the Animal Protection Society. Mrs. Meighan is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., until Tuesday where a Funeral Service will be celebrated in the chapel at 11am. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Memorial remembrances to the Palliative Care Unit of the Greater Niagara General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
