Ruth and family, my sincere condolences. Mack was
a special man - my mentor, if you will. I had the
pleasure of having had him as my boss on two
occasions in my career, which has now spanned
35 years. There isn't a day that goes by without
my thinking about him and wishing he was here
still at the helm. I fear there will never be
another like him...like Mack. God Bless!

I met Mack in the 60s, when he was Director of Information for the Dept of Citizenship and Immigration - and I was the Personal Officer for that occupation. Mack was a great source of help for me, and an inspiration; so much so that I later became an Information Officer myself. He seemed to know everyone in that field who mattered, and he had a wonderful manner in dealing with many and different people.
I still have his "Ten Commandments for Government PR" framed and mounted on the wall of my den.
The world would be better if we had more like him.

Hi there!
This is Shauna Thompson (maiden name Pelletier). I'm Linda and Pierre's eldest daughter. Mack was my Grandad Don Vincent's cousin. My deepest condolences and sympathies go out to the family. As my mom, Linda, already mentioned, we know David, Chris, Kathy, Becky and Amy. In fact, thanks to David's "Tucker House" connection, my husband (Jason)and I got married there in Aug 1998.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet Mack. It sounds like he was a great lovable guy to know.
Take care,
Shauna Thompson

Dear Ruth and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Mac's death and appreciated your call on Thursday. Ruth, Mac was a super individual who was very kind and generous. He had that special way of saying things. He made me laugh! Sam and Mac had some great conversations, as I am told. We truly miss you as neighbours.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Affectionately,
Toni, Sam and girls

I don't remember ever meeting Mack, though I may have when I was very young. I have heard my father (Donald Vincent) and my grandmother (Elsie Vincent, nee Erb..Mack's aunt) speak of him. Apparently Mack and my Dad were as close as brothers when they were children in Saint John, N.B., living on different floors in the same building and spending many hours playing together.
We do know and love David, Kathy, Becky, Chris, & Amy. Our paths crossed (by Divine intervention, I'm sure) several years ago when we first moved to Ottawa and we delighted in the discovery of family so near by.
To David and his family, to Ruth, and to all the rest of Mack's family, you will all be in our prayers as you go through this difficult time.
David, please call any time you want..(you're probably not home for us to call you right now). We're still on Buckskin Way, 834-0704.
Love, Linda & Pierre

Ruth and family; Becky and I send our condolences; as well as Amy. We are very saddened by Mack's passing. I, personally, am glad that I got to speak to him 2x recently; it was so nice to hear his voice and I will remember it and him daily. We keep you in our prayers as you in particular suffer a big loss in his passing. I hope that I can be there when the memorial is held.
