SWACKHAMMER, Muriel Ann (Trout) At the St. Catharines General Hospital on Thursday, October 24th, 2002 after a long battle with lung disease, fought with dignity and courage, Muriel Ann in her 86th year. Beloved wife for 62 years to the late Errol (March 2002). Deeply loved mother of Marjorie (Maggie) Palmer of St. Catharines, Don and Jane of Burlington, Claude and Susan of Kingston. Devoted grandmother of Bruce & Pam, Richard & Debbie, Elizabeth & Kirk, Stephanie, Sarah & Jason, Krista, Nicholas & Erin. GG (Great Grandma) will also be missed by her great grandchildren Samantha, Jessica, Calista, Breagh, Bailey, Hogan, Emily Faith, and Evan. Also survived by her brother-in-law Nelson Saxby, and sister-in-law Jill Trout and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Doris, Harold, Roy, Claudia and Jack, son-in-law Steve Palmer and great grandson Jack MacDonald. Muriel was a member of Grace Anglican Church and the Dunlop Senior Citizens Centre and for the past 7 months a resident at St. Catharines Place. Mom your courage and your strength through your long battle has been an inspiration to all of us. Breathe freely. We love you and we miss you. Rest in peace. Mrs. Swackhammer is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Monday at 10:30am. A celebration of Muriel's life will be held at Grace Anglican Church on Monday, October 28th, 2002 at 11:00am. Cremation to follow. Visitation Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm. If so desired, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Society would be appreciated by the family.
