MELNYK MARIA On Tuesday October 15, 2002, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at 92 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Peter Melnyk. Loving mother of Lacia (Richard) Gould and mother in law of George Howse. Dear Baba of Michael, Mary Anne and Susan (Ed). Dear sister of Peter Petryga of Toronto.Predeceased by her daughter Anne and grandson George Jr. Maria was a member of the seniors club of St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church and worked regularly in St. John's kitchen. Mrs. Melnyk is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUENRAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 9:00am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church at 9:30am. Rite of committal in Prospect Cemetery, Toronto. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 8:00pm. Visiting hours are Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial remembrances to St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
