Shumsky, Walter On Monday, September 2, 2002 at Victoria Hospital, London. Walter Shumsky 73 years of age. Predeceased by his wife Helen (nee Kondziolka), dear husband of Helen (nee Brodoway), loving father of Ernest and Barbara of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Christine Shumsky of London, Paul and Susan of Toronto, step father of Karen and Dave Cahill of London, Joanne Stasiuk of Ottawa, loving grandfather of David, dear brother of Olga Manasterski of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Marie and Ted Gayowski of Grimsby and Stella and Tom Connor of Waterloo. Mr. Shumsky was a member St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church. Mr. Shumsky is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines where family will receive friends on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Panachyda will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday at 8 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church on Friday at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal will take place at Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby. Memorial remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
