Obituary of Wesley George Gabriel Holtzman

Holtzman, Wesley George Gabriel Peacefully passed away at the Shaver Hospital Friday, March 28, 2003, in his 82nd year. Wesley was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen McCloskey (1993). Survived by his 4 children; Howard (Sherrill), Tom (Jane), David (Sharon), and Karen (Harry) McMurray, all of Niagara. Grandfather of Lucas and Tyler, Aaron and Sandra, Janette and Bradley, and Danielle and Ryan. Loving friend and companion of Viola Read. Wesley was born January 28, 1922 in Kitchener, Ontario, son of the late Norman W. Holtzman (1969) and Alena Welz (1968). A a child his family moved to a farm on the Niagara Parkway near Queenston., where he grew up with his life long friend, the late John Pirie. Wesley spent his adult life in St. Catharines, retiring as an electrician at Agriculture Canada, Vineland, in 1987. A traditional funeral will be held Monday, March 31, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Donations, In lieu of flowers, can be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
