Obituary of Theodore Reginald (Teddy) Carey

CAREY, Theodore Reginald (Teddy) Born in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia on August 15, 1929, passed away in his 73rd year peacefully in his sleep at Hotel Dieu Hospital on Friday, January 31st, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Ellen Carey, and his son Robert Theodore Carey. Teddy will be sadly missed by his devoted and loving wife Marie of 52 years. Loving father of Dave, Ardena, Mark, Cathy, Denise, Perry, Paul, and Alana. Lovingly remembered by his 26 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Survived by his sister Ellen Whrynn. Teddy was a member of the S.I.U. for 21 years until his retirement in 1997. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Teddy's life will be held in the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. on Tuesday at 3:00pm. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
