Obituary of Herbert Melvin Schwandt

SCHWANDT, Herbert Melvin Peacefully, after a long and courageous battle on Friday, January, 24th, 2003 at the age of 61, with his family, at the Loyalist Retirement Lodge. Loving father of Dereck and his wife Lee Ann. Dear son of Agnes and the late August (1956). Survived by his sisters Eleanor (Harold) Coles, Marina (Vic) Flus, Charlotte Schwandt, and brother Sidney. Herb will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Herb was employed with General Motors for 37 years and was a member of CAW Local 199. Herb is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. until Tuesday at 11:00am. Funeral Service will be celebrated in Grace Lutheran Church, 213 Linwell Rd on Tuesday at 1:30pm. Interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30-1:30pm at church and Monday from 7-9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hotel Dieu Hospital Oncology would be appreciated by the family.
