Obituary of Rita Dempsey

DEMPSEY RITA J. (nee: Dubreuil) Peacefully, in her sleep, after a long courageous battle with Lou Gherig's Disease, at the Shaver Hospital on Wednesday January 22, 2003 at the age of 74. Rita, beloved wife of the late James Dempsey, dear friend of John Melcher of Peterborough, Ontario. Dear mother of Lawrence (Jeanette), Randy (Virginia), Rory (Cathie), Lance (Penny) and Wayne (Tracy) Dempsey. Grandmother of 18, great grandmother of 4; dear sister of Patrick (Eunice) Dubreuil of Coe Hill, Ontario, Annette(Keith) Sullivan of St. Catharines, Lillian Sullivan of Sudbury, Claire (Ronald) Senske of North Bay. Rita was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario and moved to St. Catharines in 1956. The family will recieve friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Thursday from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service to celebrate Rita's life will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00am. Cremation to follow. If so desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the ALS Society of Ontario, Niagara Region.
