Peshko, Leslie After a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, January 17, 2003, Leslie Peshko, 76 years of age passed away in the comfort of his home. Loving husband of Marge (Filipowich) of 51 years. Dear father of Rosalie and Larry Labiuk of St. Catharines, Michael and friend Diana of St. Catharines, Christina and Michael McNamara of Hamilton, Margaret and Edward Boyce of Norval. Loving Gigi, of Carey and Leanne, Jeremy and Connie, Rebecca and Michael, Joseph, Brandon, Brianne, Shannon, Rachel, Angela, Michael, John, Sarah and Martin. Great Gigi to Curtis and Abbey. Brother of Ted of Moose Jaw, Myron and Laverne of Margo, Sask. Predeceased by his father Gregory and mother Anna, his brothers Dymetro, John, Mike, Walter, and sisters Olga, Elizabeth, Mildred, and Nellie. Survived by his brother in law Paul (Nellie), and several nieces and nephews. Leslie was also a loving member of the Filipowich family as a brother in law and uncle to many. Predeceased by his mother in law Magdalena Filipowich. Leslie was born December 3, 1926 in Kulikow, Ukraine and along with his parents and brother John, ventured to Saskatchewan Canada on March 12, 1927, to lay the foundation for his generations to follow. He chose Marge as his wife on October 20, 1951, and a short year later made St. Catharines Ontario his home. Leslie was a member of Sts Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, involved with the Brotherhood of Ukrainian Catholics and Parish Council, and member of Local 736 Hamilton Ontario of the Iron Workers Union. Mr. Peshko is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., until Monday at 10am. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:30am. Rite of committal will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours Saturday 7-9pm and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30pm. Memorial remembrances to the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
