Obituary of Joan Oakes

OAKES JOAN (nee Boakes) Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday January 17, 2003, at her residence, at 61 years of age. Beloved wife of Jim. Loving mother of Lesley (Gerald) Befort, Susan Brown and daughter in law Shelley Hayward. Cherished Nana of Lindsay, Alicia, Samantha, Jamie, Jack, Sam and baby Matt. Predeceased by her son Alan. Survived by her sister Maureen and brothers Vincent, Malcolm, Brian and Terry Boakes. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Joan is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., where a service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday at 11:00am. Cremation to follow. Memorial remembrances to Cystic Fibrosis would be appreciated by the family.
