Obituary of Stephanie (Bobi) Hefler

Hefler Vilma Stephanie (affectionately known as Bobi). Bobi was 82 years of age, wife of the late Antony, dear mother of Eva and Nigel Trippett, late Leslie (1953), loved grandmother of Neville and Mary Trippett, Sarah and David Smith, greatgrandmother of Elizabeth and Henry Trippett, Alfred and Edward Smith all of England, loving sister of Valerie Balgha of Hungary, Elizabeth Hada and Steven Pettes of St. Catharines, and half sister of Gloria Wark and Marika Pettes of Scotland. Stephanie will be remembered by her nieces and nephews Peter, Katalin, Alexander and Valerie all of Hungary, Judy and Larry Dore, Susan and Bob Luey, Alex and Tammy Pettes, Julia and James Wagner, Natasha and Joe Siconolfi and many grand nieces and nephews, dear friend of Valerie Lane and many other friends all in Canada. Bobi came to Canada from Hungary in 1957 with her daughter. After various jobs she entered Medical Technology School at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Soon after completing exams to receive her certificate, she became the Clinical Instructor in Medical Technology at Hotel Dieu Hospital. She held this position for 28 years until her retirement and the school's closure. Her influence is felt in medical laboratories across Ontario. Bobi was always interested in young people and especially her nieces and nephews whose lives she touched and shared in. She enjoyed her involvement with the choir at St. Julia's Church. Only her best was good enough and this attribute was seen in all areas of her life. The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Chapel 585 Carlton St., on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Julia's Church on Tuesday at 12noon. Cremation has taken place. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 3pm. Memorial remembrances to St. Julia's Church or the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria or Hotel Dieu Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
